Black Bean Brownies

Black Bean Brownies
submitted by: Rachel Green

1 box brownie mix (I used triple chocolate chunk)
1 can black beans rinsed and drained
1/2 cup water

puree black beans and water in a blender or food processor. Combine with brownie mix. DO NOT ADD OIL OR EGGS bake according to package directions. Enjoy!

These turned out very tasty. You can't taste beans at all. The beans do change the texture of the brownies a little bit-they are a little more dense. Pack some protein and fiber into your treats-oh yeah!

This sounds interesting. I'll have to try it out.

hot out of the oven i can taste the black beans...but i like brownie's better the next day anyway, and i know that with the spinach brownies you have to let them cool completely in order to not taste the spinach, so...we shall see how they taste tomorrow.

better the next day! i have to say i still like regular brownies the best with all the bad stuff, but if you are trying to cut back on fat or add some fiber or protein these are good option. the beans definitely change the texture, kind of similar to when you sub applesauce for the oil: denser. worth a try though! it would be fun to try a line up of brownies with different subs in them.
